The highlight of shopping at Desert Ridge is Desert Ridge Marketplace, a $170 million, 1.3-million-square-foot suburban lifestyle entertainment center, a showcase for a new trend-setting class of shopping experiences. Opened in October 2001, Desert Ridge Marketplace has given area residents a chance to relive the downtown main-street shopping experience of yesteryear - a place where you can leisurely stroll through an open-air marketplace and find shopping, restaurants and entertainment just minutes from your Desert Ridge home.
Gone are the noise, stress and runaround of the 1990s shopping malls. At Desert Ridge Marketplace, there's room to breathe and selection galore. This first-of-its-kind shopping experience includes five unique shopping "districts," each with a shopping theme that helps you find exactly what you need.
In addition to Desert Ridge Marketplace, convenience shopping, limited to 10,000 square feet of shops, will be located in each residential Superblock, self-contained communities designed to enhance the sense of neighborhood and reduce traffic.
We know your time is valuable and believe you shouldn't have to work too hard to shop, take in a movie, eat at your favorite restaurant or pick-up a carton of milk on the way home. Desert Ridge makes it easy.
The fully equipped clubhouse includes everything from clubs and clothing to accessories and instruction from a certified professional. Contact the clubhouse at (480) 473-0205, for tee-time reservations.
The second 18-hole course, designed by PGA pro Nick Faldo, is now under construction.
To avoid the sense of physical isolation often found in western U.S. cities, Desert Ridge has created residential Superblocks that are structured to promote a strong sense of neighborhood identification and orientation. At the heart of each Superblock is an elementary school, a neighborhood park and a small neighborhood convenience shopping area.
